FOR ADULTS + TEENS 14+

We offer 8-week series and drop-in classes in wheel throwing and handbuilding ceramics for the complete beginner to the advanced student. Our classes are a safe place for you to explore your creativity and get your hands muddy in the process.

The offerings you’ll find on this page are for adults and teens age 14 or older. We also offer kids pottery classes.

8-WEEK SESSION

All of our 8-week sessions include clay, access to all of our glazes, and firing of all your finished work. 

While currently enrolled, students are also invited to participate in our Open Studio on Saturdays to independently practice the skills learned in class.

In this introductory wheel throwing class, you’ll learn the whole process of making an item from start to finish on the wheel. This includes wedging and centering the clay, throwing, trimming, as well as making items such as mugs, cups, bowls, and plates. You will have the opportunity to throw on both an electric wheel and kick wheel.

This class covers essential handbuilding AND wheel throwing techniques, including pinch, coil, slab work, and working on the potters wheel. You’ll learn how to create a variety of functional and decorative pieces. You’ll also explore glazing techniques, learning how to apply Cone 6 glazes to bring your pieces to life.

Explore handbuilding functional and sculptural forms in this 8 week class! Stephanie will demonstrate various building methods and processes relevant to student interests, including slab building (soft and stiff), pinching, coiling, and additive/subtractive techniques.

Are you curious about handbuilding with clay? In this 8-week pottery course, you will focus on refining and expanding your skills in coiling, pinching, and slab construction techniques. You will learn how to create simple and complex forms, experiment with different textures and patterns, and develop your own unique style. It’s preferred for students to come with projects and ideas, but the teacher will meet each student where they are at.

Elevate your garden with your own handmade plant markers, windchimes, and bud vases for all your spring flowers. We’ll spend the first two classes building and refining our pieces with the third class dedicated to decorating with underglaze and glaze to make your creations pop!

During this workshop, you’ll design your own unique lamp and go over the best building method tailored to your design. We will cover various surface design elements such as carving, adding texture or 3D elements using slip, and more.

Make your own custom mug perfect for any faire in town. We will build large mugs using pinchpits, slabs or coils then create details using sgraffito, stamps, press molds and glaze to give it a completely unique twist.
