TESTIMONIALS
I absolutely love MudCity. I truly can’t say enough good things about this studio. The classes are three hours long, which is amazing — you get so much hands-on time to learn, experiment, and really get into the creative flow. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely fun. They make you feel comfortable no matter your skill level.
The community here is what really sets it apart. Everyone is so kind, collaborative, and encouraging. I’ve met such wonderful people and made real friendships. It’s become one of my favorite creative outlets — and honestly, it’s addicting in the best way. I keep signing up for more classes because I just don’t want to stop.
Students also get open studio time on the weekends, which is such a huge bonus and makes the value even better. The only downside recently is that open studio was reduced to one weekend day instead of two — it was amazing having both days available, especially if you have other plans. I’m hoping they bring that back because it really made the experience even more flexible and special.
Overall, I can’t recommend MudCity enough. If you’ve been thinking about trying pottery, this is absolutely the place to do it.

“
Mudcity Clay is fantastic! Signed-up for a class with no experience and not knowing anyone - found the studio to be wonderfully warm and supportive.
The class had people of varying knowledge and abilities, and the teacher, Clara, adapted things to meet everyone’s needs and interests! The Saturday open studio time was a great opportunity to practice and work on items more independently although the interns there that day as well as other potters were very willing to answer questions and advise as needed. Sign-up for a class!!

I have wanted to take a pottery class for years, but when my kiddo was younger I could never take an evening class because I always had to be the mom taxi. Now that I'm an empty nester, I have more flexibility. I decided to take the 2 to 5 class during the doldrums of winter because if It was easier to leave my house at 2 than 6 pm. This meant rearranging work meetings.
At first that was hard, but as I found my center on the wheel, I also found the people and instructors and the hands-on nature of the class to be better than any therapy I have ever had. I leave class feeling reconnected to myself and being in community with others. I now schedule my week so that nothing interrupts the class that occurs in the middle of the week. I have something to look forward early in the week and something that sustains me during the latter part of the week.

When I originally signed up for an evening clay class, I had only intended on taking a few ad hoc classes, but a year later I’m still here — and now a member. There’s something about the studio’s setup and overall vibe that just keeps drawing me back. The teachers and staff are incredibly welcoming, supportive, and genuinely wonderful to be around. It’s such a positive, encouraging space to learn and create, and I’m so grateful to be part of this community.

“
Mudcity is super convenient for me. I needed to relearn and learn some skills and both Emily and Paisley were amazing instructors. Emily really made the throwing process click for me. Paisley was so gracious and giving of her knowledge and skills. I took a fantastic handle workshop with Clara. I actually love making handles now! I love the setup of the space and firing was very consistent. I feel like I could have used more guidance with the glazing process, combos, etc., maybe if there were test tiles of combinations, that would help. The length of class is great and the extra studio time is really helpful. Overall a great experience!

I have been a member at MudCity for two years and I can't say enough positive things about this space! Meghan has created an incredibly welcoming community space and the instructors are an extension of that. I have taken two classes here both with Paisley (handbuilding) and Emily (wheel throwing) and loved every minute of them. As a member the space has everything you could need, including members who are always willing to lend you a tool or share their knowledge. I love being a part of this community and absolutely recommend checking it out for an 8-week class or their weekly drop-in ClayPlay. They also offer classes for kids!

“
I’ve been taking classes at Mudcity for almost five years now, and my daughter has recently joined. At this point, we’ve truly become part of a wonderful creative community.
One of the things I love most is how welcoming it is for every skill level—whether you’re brand‑new to clay or more experienced, there’s always something to learn. The teachers are kind, supportive, and genuinely interesting people. If you’re even a little bit clay‑curious, this is a fantastic place to explore.

“
I had the absolute best experience taking the 8-week clay class with Clara. She is such an incredible instructor and mentor. Throughout the course, it was so clear how much knowledge and experience she has, and she truly pours that into her students.
Clara creates such a welcoming and encouraging environment, and she teaches you not just the technical skills of working with clay, but a whole new way to appreciate and love the process. I learned so much during the class! Her passion for ceramics is contagious, and it’s evident how much she genuinely cares about helping each student improve and find their own creative voice. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to learn from her, and I’m already looking forward to taking another class and joining Clay-Plays with her in the future! Here are a couple of my favorite creations from my 8-weeks.
