This 3-week class offers young artists ages 5-8 the opportunity to explore their creativity while experiencing the messy fun of clay. Guided by the teacher, students will learn the whole process of making forms from start to finish using various building techniques including wedging, slabwork, coiling, pinching, and stamping. Using decorative and colorful underglazes and glazes, as well as occasional mixed media materials, students will create unique and imaginative works of art to take home. Clay and glazes are included.

All skill levels welcome. These classes may also be repeated, the instructors will skillfully meet the needs of all levels.

Amy is a ceramic artist living and working in Berwick, Maine with her husband, child, dog, and two cats. Her work is rooted in a lifelong love for the arts, which began in childhood and evolved into a professional practice. She studied at the University of New Hampshire where she earned her bachelors in Ceramics, Studio Art.
In her home studio, Amy creates nature-inspired sculptures and minimalistic ceramic jewelry. In her spare time you can find her in the kitchen baking. She also shares her passion of art and teaching through hands-on classes for children ages 5–14, encouraging creativity expression and exploration of the imagination through clay.
