This kids clay class offers young artists ages the opportunity to explore their imaginations while experiencing the messy fun of clay. Students will learn the whole process of making a clay object from start to finish.

WITH EMILY / FOR ADULTS + TEENS 14+

In this introductory wheel throwing class, you’ll learn the whole process of making an item from start to finish on the wheel. This includes wedging and centering the clay, throwing, trimming, as well as making items such as mugs, cups, bowls, and plates. You will have the opportunity to throw on both an electric wheel and kick wheel.

WITH JEN / FOR HOMESCHOOL KIDS AGES 7-13

This Open Studio clay art class for homeschoolers ages 7-13, teaches the fundamentals of working with the medium of clay to create both functional and sculptural works of art.

WITH CLARA / FOR ADULTS + TEENS 14+

This class covers essential handbuilding AND wheel throwing techniques, including pinch, coil, slab work, and working on the potters wheel. You’ll learn how to create a variety of functional and decorative pieces. You’ll also explore glazing techniques, learning how to apply Cone 6 glazes to bring your pieces to life.

Explore handbuilding functional and sculptural forms in this 8 week class! Stephanie will demonstrate various building methods and processes relevant to student interests, including slab building (soft and stiff), pinching, coiling, and additive/subtractive techniques.

WITH HEATHER / FOR KIDS AGES 9-13

This kids clay class offers young artists ages the opportunity to explore their creativity while experiencing the messy fun of clay. Students will learn the whole process of making both sculptural and functional work from start to finish. This includes techniques like wedging, coil, pinch, slab, as well as occasional wheel work!

WITH CLARA / FOR ADULTS + TEENS 14+

In this intermediate wheel throwing class we will focus on larger pieces and multi-step projects. Students will spend time perfecting forms on the wheel, with dedication to consistency and quality. Those engaged in this course are expected to enter with an understanding of wheel basics so that class time is devoted to making more complex items. This class is great for a student who is looking to push their work into the next level. Students taking this class should feel comfortable centering and throwing at least two pounds of clay. You will have the opportunity to throw on both an electric wheel and kick wheel.

WITH NIKKI / FOR ADULTS + TEENS 14+

Are you curious about handbuilding with clay? In this 8-week pottery course, you will focus on refining and expanding your skills in coiling, pinching, and slab construction techniques. You will learn how to create simple and complex forms, experiment with different textures and patterns, and develop your own unique style. It’s preferred for students to come with projects and ideas, but the teacher will meet each student where they are at.
